Looking back, our original intention of making waterproof motors was simply because the customer's application scenario involved water, so we customized an integrated motor with an IP65 protection level.
Later, we found that many customers had similar needs, such as mechanical processing, outdoor lighting, automated irrigation and other outdoor scenes, so we simply made them into standard products, and then waterproof series products such as STMP57/STMP42 were gradually introduced to the market.
As time goes by, the STMP57 series finally ushered in a major upgrade, such as multi-turn encoder, built-in brake, EtherCAT bus, etc. At the same time, the operating temperature range was increased.

01.Highly integrated design

The body shell is made of alloy material + electrophoresis process, which has very good pressure resistance and corrosion resistance. At the same time, the communication and power lines are led out at the upper axial position and an aviation plug interface is used. It is equipped with the latest bus communication technology in the industry, adding the EtherCAT bus on the basis of the original CANopen or RS485 communication, thereby achieving a higher response speed, bringing users a smoother and more efficient operation experience, and providing strong technical support for real-time data transmission and control in various complex application scenarios.
One-to-many control of the integrated motor can be easily achieved through bus communication. The STMP57 series integrated stepper servo motor can be connected to various control devices such as motion controllers, PLCs, motion control cards, industrial computers, etc., making equipment wiring simpler and more convenient.
04.Single-turn/multi-turn absolute encoder

The STMP57 series products have an internal 17-bit single-turn or multi-turn absolute encoder. Even after the motor loses power, the encoder can continue to work for a period of time relying on the internal battery, record and save position information, and know the current absolute position when powered on.
The main functions of the absolute encoder are: after the motor loses power, the encoder can record the position information, and the current absolute position can be known when the power is turned on; the prohibited entry range can be flexibly set to allow the return direction to avoid the restricted area, making control simpler.

The brake of the STMP57 series integrated stepper servo motor products adopts an embedded design, which does not require an external brake line, reduces wiring time and improves debugging efficiency.
It is equipped with gravity recognition and gravity preset functions, which can effectively prevent the brake from releasing and the load from dropping when the motor starts due to the load's own weight or external force. At the same time, after multiple optimization and calibration, the brake output delay time is shorter and the load stops more accurately.
06.Wide operating temperature range
The normal operating environment temperature range of integrated motors is usually set to 0℃~40℃. This standard can adapt to most conventional industrial application environments and ensure that the motor can operate stably and perform at its best within this temperature range.
However, with the continuous advancement of industrial technology and the increasing diversification of application scenarios, the requirements for the working environment temperature of motors are becoming higher and higher, especially in extreme climates or special industrial environments. Conventional integrated motors are often difficult to meet the requirements.

To address this challenge, we have added the STMPW57 wide-temperature model to the STMP57 series. This series of motors has been comprehensively upgraded in design and manufacturing, with particular optimization of thermal management and heat dissipation performance, greatly expanding its operating environment temperature range.
The operating environment temperature of STMPW series wide temperature series motors can reach -40℃~75℃. This temperature range not only covers the conventional industrial application environment, but also can cope with the harsh conditions of extreme cold or high temperature, ensuring that the motor can still operate stably and exert excellent performance in these extreme environments.
07.NiMStudio host computer debugging software

The STMP57 series products fully support NiMStudio host computer software debugging. The software has an intuitive and friendly interface and powerful functions, making the debugging and operation of the motor easier and faster.
Through the software, users can easily perform communication tests, supporting EtherCAT, CANopen and RS485 communications; parameter reading and writing, can set various parameters of the motor, including movement speed, position, etc.; control mode operation, including CiA402 and NiMotion modes to meet the needs of different operating scenarios; cloud upgrades, including studio software upgrades, configuration file upgrades, historical version downloads, firmware upgrades, device description file downloads, and restore factory parameter file downloads.
08.Multiple motion control modes
The STMP57 series not only supports basic motion control functions, but also provides a variety of advanced control modes such as PP, PV, PT, VM, HM, IP, CSP, CSV, CST, etc., providing users with more flexible and precise motion control solutions.
