Application of integrated stepping servo motor in tobacco harvester
Tobacco is an important cash crop and plays an important role in my country's national economy. With the acceleration of agricultural modernization, when it is necessary to harvest tobacco on large areas of tobacco fields, manual harvesting can no longer meet agricultural requirements. Mechanized tobacco harvesters have high harvesting efficiency and can complete harvesting operations in a timely manner.
Tobacco harvesters are important mechanical equipment in the field of tobacco planting. Their performance and efficiency are directly related to the cost and quality of tobacco production. In recent years, the application of integrated stepper motors in tobacco harvesters has become increasingly widespread, greatly improving the operating performance and stability of harvesters.
01.Equipment Introduction

Mechanical harvesting refers to the actions of manual harvesting, using the external force generated by the harvesting machinery to complete the harvesting operation, combined with the transmission and collection of tobacco leaves, to complete the mechanized process of tobacco leaf harvesting.

The fully automatic tobacco leaf harvester is mainly composed of a cab, a main frame, a harvesting mechanism, a conveying mechanism, a fan and a tobacco basket, as shown in the figure.

Schematic diagram of the structure of a fully automatic tobacco leaf harvester
According to the requirements of tobacco leaf harvesting, a fully automatic tobacco leaf harvester is mainly composed of three parts: traveling, harvesting and storage.
Since the tobacco leaf harvester mainly travels at a low speed on the tobacco field, the working conditions of the traveling system are relatively simple. Similar to the design of other agricultural machinery, the suspension system, steering mechanism and traveling mechanism of the whole machine are simplified to provide space for the layout of the harvesting mechanism and storage mechanism.
02.Solution
Tobacco leaf harvesting is unique compared to other crops. Tobacco leaves are easily damaged. When harvesting, it is necessary to ensure a low damage rate, otherwise its economic value will be greatly reduced.
Traditional electronic control systems generally use control solutions such as PC+PLC+touch screen+driver+stepping motor, which not only requires cumbersome wiring and occupies a large space, but also the entire control process is very complicated, greatly increasing the development cycle.

NiMotion integrated motor structure system diagram
The integrated stepper motor integrates the stepper motor, driver, encoder, I/O, brake, etc. It has the characteristics of compact structure, small size, convenient wiring, precise control, and rapid response. Therefore, in the tobacco harvester, we use the integrated stepper motor to upgrade the key components such as the picking device.

Motor model: STM57B
We upgraded the tobacco harvester based on the compact design of the integrated motor. The STM57 series integrated stepper servo motor is used in the picking device, making the tobacco harvester lighter and more flexible, improving the operating efficiency and reducing the maintenance cost of the equipment.
First, the integrated stepper motor provides precise control capabilities for the tobacco harvester. During the harvesting process, the picking device needs to be precisely adjusted according to the growth and position of the tobacco leaves to ensure complete picking of the tobacco leaves and reduce damage. The integrated stepper motor achieves precise control of the picking device through precise step angles and highly repeatable positioning accuracy, improving harvesting efficiency and tobacco quality.
Secondly, the high efficiency of the integrated stepper motor enables the tobacco harvester to cope with high-intensity operation requirements. During the tobacco harvesting season, the harvester needs to operate continuously and efficiently to complete a large number of tobacco harvesting tasks. The integrated stepper motor has the characteristics of fast start, stop and reverse, and can quickly respond to control signals to achieve efficient and stable harvesting operations.
In addition, the stability of the integrated stepper motor is also an important feature that the tobacco harvester relies on. In field operations, the harvester faces complex and changeable working environments, such as muddy fields and changeable weather. The integrated stepper motor uses high-quality materials and advanced manufacturing processes, has excellent durability and stability, and can ensure that the harvester can operate stably for a long time in harsh environments.
